Last month, MADO Healthcare proudly joined NAMI Chicago for their annual walk to bring awareness to mental health and addiction issues. For 12 years, NAMI Walks has been gathering to eliminate stigma and end the silence while raising funds for local chapters. This year, over 1,500 Chicagoans walked together for this cause. More than 90 of those walkers were members of the MADO Healthcare team. Staff, clients and family members joined in solidarity for this event – MADO Healthcare’s largest representation in community outreach and advocacy work to date.
In addition to MADO Healthcare being a Silver Sponsor of this year’s walk, our clients, families and staff raised over $600. All our team members walking wore client-designed t-shirts as an additional show of solidarity. Designing the shirts was an activity in the Arts Therapy program at all MADO locations. This encouraged clients to express their creativity, showcase their talents and take particular pride in an event promoting their individual paths to wellness. MADO Healthcare is proud to advocate for issues of Mental Health and Wellbeing along with all those at NAMI.
