Another September in Chicago brought the annual NAMI Walks to our city. NAMI Chicago’s annual walk brings awareness to mental health and addiction issues. This year, NAMI Walks celebrated its 16th anniversary. This gathering helps to eliminate stigma and end the silence while raising funds for local chapters. This year over 1300 people walked the 5k along Chicago’s lakefront on a beautiful late summer afternoon. MADO Healthcare was proud to be a silver sponsor of the event again this year. We stand alongside NAMI in support of all who are living with mental health and addiction diagnoses.
In anticipation of this year’s walk, MADO Healthcare clients, again, worked together to vote on a design for our team’s t-shirt. MADO Healthcare proudly gathered over 90 clients, staff and family members to participate in this year’s walk and as a show of solidarity all wore the chosen team shirt, “Join the Movement. Bee the Change.” The t-shirt design process is a way for clients at all MADO Healthcare locations to collaborate and connect, while expressing their creativity and voice to advocate for issues of mental health and wellbeing.
