Last week, MADO Healthcare clients at all 4 of our locations gathered together to share a traditional Thanksgiving meal. The dining halls were adorned with fall colors and artwork created by clients in art therapy. Those who weren’t home for the holiday were served turkey, cranberries, stuffing and pumpkin pie by MADO Healthcare Staff. The gathering on Thanksgiving Day culminated a month of focus on thankfulness discussions in group settings and writing projects focusing on gratitude, traditions and memories. Many shared their thoughts and feelings about their continued paths to wellness and the appreciation they had for care in a therapeutic environment and the support of staff and peers. A client volunteer at each location opened the Thanksgiving feast with a short reflection and expression of gratitude. The families of several MADO staff joined us for Thanksgiving festivities, a longstanding tradition at MADO Healthcare.
